Very nice summary – just exactly the right amount of dense. (I haven’t read the book.) It’s your last paragraph that I was most hoping for – I’ve thought for a while that computer systems that model thinking will need to be both strict and rough, and that there isn’t enough time spent on making such systems now.

This also reminds me that you need to read The Singularity is Near, which is similarly interesting and dense. And now I also want you to write a similar summary of it – I think such a summary (written by you) would be a significant addition to the cognitive universe.

I <3 me some linguistics. Did you see Pinker when he was at Case a couple years ago?

I subscribed to http://www.podictionary.com/ a couple weeks ago, and I’ve been enjoying the short form etymologies there.
