🧵2/ Alma Deutscher is a contemporary young musical genius. She reports having almost constant tunes & melodies in her head, and she excels at classical improvisation. Give her four notes and a few minutes, and she’ll improvise a five minute classical masterpiece out of thin air. There are plenty of vids of her doing that on YT, and it’s amazing to watch her play. Her composing goal, in her own words, is to create ‘beautiful’ music. She’s a massive success I must say - and a shining light in the world. Here she is, five years ago still a teenager, playing her first of two original ‘Ludwig Waltzs’ she wrote to honor Beethoven. youtu.be/kR3T9OjoxSM?si=nlGXMU
