今日はエドヴァルド・グリーグの誕生日。1843年、ベルゲン生まれ。
生まれ育った家は第二次大戦で破壊されて残っていない。跡地の建物にはそのことを示すプレートが小さく残っている（https://maps.app.goo.gl/q4Z2DwjXvkAKFWd76 下の楕円形のプレート）。ただ、他に何もグリーグの縁を感じられるものが残っていないだけに、このプレートの存在について触れる情報が少ない。ベルゲンまで来たのであれば、トロルハウゲンまで行けばグリーグの記念館などが多数残っている。

今日はリヒャルト・シュトラウスの誕生日。1864年、ミュンヘンの生まれ。
生家は第２次大戦の際に破壊され、跡地には別の建物が建っていた。ここに生家であることを示すプレートも掲げられていたのだが、http://www.nakash.jp/opera/2006munchen/16univer.htm この建物も取り壊されて更に新しい建物に変わっている。問題はこの新しい建物の生家を示す表示が、何でこんな場所を思いついたという様な場所に変わったこと。https://maps.app.goo.gl/U7wquuDVE5V34ugQ6 リヒャルト・シュトラウスファンはここを訪れる際に、見落とさない様に気をつけないといけない。
父親はミュンヘンの宮廷楽団のホルン奏者。その影響もあり、２曲のホルン協奏曲をはじめホルンをフィーチャーした作品が多いほか、管弦楽曲でもホルンが活躍する作品が多い。なお、父親の音楽観が大変保守的なものであったため、リヒャルトも当初はその影響を強く受けた交響曲などを書いていた。
