今日は岩城宏之の誕生日。1932年、東京の生まれ。前に文京区千石辺りという資料を見た記憶があったが、今確認しようとしたら見当たらない。

父親が役人だったので、その赴任に伴って一時京都府へ移住、その後再び東京に戻っている。数々のエッセイの中で書かれる彼の幼少期の記憶の数々はこの頃以降の話が多い。その他、事ある毎にエッセイに自身の生い立ちを書いているが、芸大受験まであまり師事の話が出て来ないのがちょっと不思議な感じもする。

ひょっこりおすすめに出てきた。スヴェトラーノフ懐かしいな。スヴェトラーノフと言えば指揮台の赤い扇風機がトレードマークだったけど、この動画ではまだそれがないし、オケもソヴィエト国立交響楽団だから相当に前の映像の筈。何年ごろだろう。

スヴェトラーノフの「古典交響曲」はLP時代にはよくFMで放送されていた。第４楽章が無茶苦茶にテンポ速くて、最初にこれを聴いてしまったものだから他の演奏が妙にゆっくりに聞こえてしょうがなかったw。実はスヴェトラーノフのテンポ設定が例外的だったと気付くのはかなり経ってから。

この映像でもやっぱりバカっ速いテンポでフルートが２人とも必死になって吹いているのが良くわかる。このテンポであの16分音符まともに吹ける人なかなかいないでしょw。

今日はジョン・ケージの誕生日。1912年、ロサンゼルスの「Good Samaritan Hospital」で生まれる。この病院を含め、幼少期を過ごした家などに特に記念碑などは設置されていない。

父親が発明家で潜水艦などを開発していたという。英語のWikipediaでは「他人が「出来ない」と言ったことがお前のやることだ」と父が教えたということが書いてあるが、出典不詳。ただ、如何にもケージらしいエピソードではある。

母方の家系に音楽家がいた。
