I didn't know I had a favourite musical director. Barrington Pheloung was the musical director and composer for #InspectorMorse #Endeavour and #Lewis.
He also contributed to many films and tv shows

A wonderful movie about the du Pré sisters, Hilary and Jackie was incredibly scored.

The interweaving of #music and #opera with the dramatic themes of Morse is unmatched.

Pheloung was only 65 when he died in 2019.

The opening theme of Inspector Morse is simple but brilliant. Morse code for M.O.R.S.E.

Dated and maudlin at times, it is still classic #TV made better by the music and Morse's relationship to it.

I keep re-watching Rush's performance at the Junos. Mind-blowing how tight that performance was. Listen to it. Tight. Tight. Tight. Damn!

And interesting how they handled the political situation. The performance was a gentle introduction to Anika Nilles and touring keyboardist, Loren Gold.

Picking a song off their self-titled John Rutsey album avoided knee-jerk Anika v Neal comparisons from their rabid fans while also showcasing just how utterly deserving Nilles was of being on that stage - while images of the band's memories of Peart were projected on the back wall.

There will be still be air drumming at Rush concerts.

This all has me thinking I need to see them live at least one last time. I saw them for Moving Pictures, and again for Power Windows. These were life-altering concerts.

But skipping Ottawa?! I see Montreal and Toronto but no Ottawa? Can't help but feel a bit bitter. They've always played Ottawa!
