nsxiv (X11) -- horrible blurry mess
imv (Wayland native) -- far clearer, but still blurry (can tell by looking at the parts that use bitmapped fonts)
swayimg (Wayland, maybe wlroots-native??) -- completely crisp

@phlash You could always add kern.heartbeat.max_period=0 to /etc/sysctl.conf, but if cpu1 has stalled so is dormant booting uniprocessor is no worse.

You could even try #NetBSD 10.1_STABLE as the subsystem panicking your kernel was introduced in 11. Probably won't fix your stuck CPU though

I'm still rocking the default #ctwm on my #NetBSD secondary work machine, partially because I use deskflow to control it with my Debian machine's keyboard and mouse, so I don't feel the need to tile there.

Fresh NetBSD 11 in a VM, running ctwm, listening to @tilderadio and browsing the fediverse.

Thanks to @netbsd and everyone working on NetBSD - the clean base system is really appreciated.

I'd like to support #NetBSD in #iocaine's CI, at least to some extent, basically to run:

...and then report back to Forgejo.

I don't need Forgejo Actions, I don't need forgejo-runner, all I want is to have a commit status indicating the state (pending, success, failure, etc), and to optionally upload the logs somewhere (S3-compatible storage preferred).

Tasks would be sent via webhooks.

Is there an existing tool, available from pkgsrc that can do this for me?

Made a small PR towards Forgejo to allow its build on NetBSD (I found out that the pkgsrc-wip contributor is already working on packaging it, but was blocked) and illumos - as these are broken at the moment, in 16.x branch: pretty much dumb addition or removal of type cast to int64 in one particular module.

In case anyone else hits it: The version of xgettext in #NetBSD 10.1 is old enough (0.16) that it breaks the #WatanabeShell build. You need the one that is in pkgsrc (0.22).

Bleh. Our #FreeBSD system has developed some file-system corruption which has us thinking that we should reformat with a different approach. If only #NetBSD gave us better luck but I think I posted a while back that we could only ever get a limited-resolution framebuffer display going, whereas getting our #Nvidia card working with FreeBSD was relatively easy.

@armando @stuartl OK, the problem you will have with older versions of Receiver (as it was) is that they won't know new enough TLS, etc. to be able to speak to anything modern.

I never got 11.6 to work with modern--ish NetScaler even when forcing on SSL v2 and SHA1 cert signatures.

However, I now have a graphical #NetBSD environment to play with thanks to @lproven and his query about CDE to the NetBSD mailing lists, so I'll see how well modern Linux emulation works.

With recent commits, hdaudio(4) of #NetBSD/amd64-current becomes stable.

Whew, I successfully updated my kitchen-server from NetBSD 10.1 to NetBSD 11.0 via the sysupgrade.

Now, I'm thinking about transforming this system, having a lot of binary packages from remote repository — to the system where each package is built locally via pkgsrc.

Since it is just a server, I don't see any problems with > 24h compile time of something like Rust of Librewolf
BTW, I didn't find an easy way (just launch one script and go to sleep) to convert the system from using remote built packages to the locally built packages
So, looks like I'll use some one-liner to get list of packages where build host != my server hostname. And then rebuild and update these packages with the help of pkgsrc.
