    WASHINGTON-The Trump
administration is trying to get Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) to significantly weaken his Russia-sanctions bill while the White
House seeks to patch up its relationship with Moscow instead of punishing it for the continued invasion of Ukraine.
A key provision in the legislation, backed by more than 80 senators, is the imposition of sanctions on key Russian officials and sectors, as well as penalties for countries that do business with Moscow. That, President Trump fears, could harm his goal of reviving relations between the U.S. and Russia even as he seeks to end the war in Ukraine.

Over the past weeks, White House and other administration officials have quietly contacted Graham's office, urging him to water down his bill, namely by inserting waivers that would allow Trump to choose who or what gets sanctioned, congressional aides said. Another way to weaken the legislation would be to turn the word "shall" into "may" wherever it appears in the bill's text, removing the mandatory nature of the prescribed reprimands, congressional aides said.
Any administration asks for changes to high-profile bills, often seeking language that gives the president more authority to make decisions instead of having foreign-policy actions thrust upon them. But removing the mandatory nature of the sanctions would render Graham's bill toothless, the staffers said, noting that Trump already has the ability to impose sanctions at will.

#Russia and #Ukraine agreed to continue negotiations in #Istanbul - that’s fascinating news, isn’t it?

Ukraine had just MASSIVELY violated Russia’s so called “red lines”, not one but several of them.

And Russia responded… no, not by using some doomsday weapons. They just sent a delegation which, as participants reported, was behaving almost like regular humans. And then they agreed on the next round!

The only people who were furious and panicked were our own Western “geopolitical experts” who historically always advised to always be kind to Russia, and always give it what it wants.

Can you see a pattern here?

Back in the Soviet era, I don't think many would have believed you if you told them that the way to take out one 3rd of the Russian cruise-missile fleet is to drive trucks full of remote-control model air planes to near the air bases, then use the model airplanes to drop bombs on the bomber aircraft.

My hat's off to the Ukrainians! Particularly since there is no way to retaliate in kind. The Ukrainians haven't got a cruise-missile fleet. They've got trucks.

Ukraine's greatest military and intel coup so far, hitting dozens of Russian strategic bombers located at 4 different airfields! Also a reminder that Ukraine strikes military targets while Russia smashes drones into Ukrainian shopping centers and thousands of apartment buildings.

Ukrainian officials said its drones damaged more than 40 warplanes in attacks on four military airports deep inside Russia, a daring clandestine strike. Putin used these aircraft to mass murder, now destroyed!

Romania's democracy itself was on the ballot, as a Russian-backed candidate came close to being installed in the Presidency.

A textbook example of how to prevent Russians from dismantling democracy, Romania was saved by clear, decisive action.

Romanian authorities moved against coordinated disinformation across several social media platforms, annulled a compromised election, and launched investigations into the pro-Kremlin and criminal circles working to hijack the vote. These steps protected the integrity of the democratic process.

We congratulate Dan on his victory—and the Romanian people for proving that democracy doesn’t survive on its own. It must be defended from those that seek to take it away.

Russian war criminal Putin invaded Ukraine over three years ago with the intent of stealing its children. Putin launched his imperial conquest to first and foremost dominate the Ukrainian people, and he recognized that to deprive Ukraine of its children would be to deprive it of its multigenerational potential. When Russian troops rolled across the border into Ukraine on the night of February 24, 2022, the groundwork for the massive deportation of Ukraine’s children was already well underway.
