Video Games: Minecraft Puzzles [SENSITIVE CONTENT]

A whole culture has grown up around minecraft escape rooms ... and criticizing "bad escape rooms" and I kind of love it.

All puzzles are math puzzles* and it's funny how the cultures around these things mirror each other.

Here is a video that kind of throws you into the thick of what the kids are up to:

Shine is clearly not Iris shader, but there's a bit more going on than the default look. I wonder if it would cope better with busy scenes than a full vertex shader.

      Main frustrations are (probably) short-term: Fabric-only, Minecraft versions 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.1.x

Mod author has specifically stated they're working on a NeoForge version.

plains scene with bed, workbench, and forge. It's a little more saturated than a purely vanilla Minecraft scene, and a placed torch is obviously given a bloom glow effect.

Kiddo’s 2017 MacBook Air struggling under the load.

Strong suspicion I could swap out for , do better with and most everything else, and not do much worse at macOS-specific stuff like and Messages under (https://github.com/kholia/OSX-KVM).

Anyone done this, or something similar?

Some people I know and love could be playing together if I ran a server for them. I'm happy to do that, provided I can approximately never again pay attention to it.

Let's see how this setup pans out: https://schmonz.com/2025/04/15/sensible-basic-minecraft-hosting/

Anyone running a server under process supervision? Interested in how you stop cleanly. My first pass is a wrapper for the usual signals that writes "/stop\n" to the server: https://gist.github.com/schmonz/788a08fe72ea4978d47fe664ea8cc06d

            What have I missed?

Also, how often might I need to send other server commands?
