With the team captains off at a tournament, it was left to me to run today's CWRU Ultimate practice. I brought cones and disc, got folks doing an end zone drill (we apparently have not yet covered the end zone offense formation), and then we played. I am not a great Ultimate player, but I have very little patience for teaching the basics such as how to stack and how to cut. It's important to teach new players these things, but I am not the guy to do it. Fortunately, Brandon (who is a phenomenal and experienced player) stopped by and helped out.

Walking home, I passed a folk music fair in front of the WRUW headquarters. I stopped to say hello to roommate and radio fanatic Nathan, then continued home, where I was accosted by two separate groups of people (one group of which was exclusively female and cute) looking for the fair. What was it about me that tipped these opportunistic folks off to my knowledge: my tired walk, weighed down by cleats, disc, and cones? my near-shorn head, at once symbolic of invincibility and damn sexy? or what? I may never know.

Frank and I went bowling at the stupendous Palisades Palace in Wickliffe. We played seven games, only a few of which were good. Both of us did not have our best skills available, but bowling is always a good time. There is a place on the west side that has $1 games on Sundays.

Party at Phi Kappa Theta! Huge turnout and a good crowd. All involved had a damn good time.
