I am the Phi Kap Computer Committee Chair! Yay! This will entail at least one interesting database-related project. I look forward to being assigned committee members and a budget so I can get started.
Ken and Gabe and the rest of the unruly bunch that is Speakeasy performed at an open-mic session at some west side coffeeshop. This is the first time I've heard them since last year, and they sound much better.
While waiting for their time slot to open, I played chess with Phil, who lived in Storrs with me back when we were freshmen. I had flushed his king out near the middle of the board and was but a few moves from a checkmate when the octet got their call to perform. Every time I play chess, I remember how much I enjoy it, and then don't play again for a long time. Look for another chess update in May.
I've outlined the features and program flow of what will someday be a nifty Web-based application to maintain this very journal. Don't hold your breath waiting for it unless you are practicing for the upcoming Breath-Holding World Championship, held in the Marianas Trench.
And finally, I've moved the journal to my home Web server and done a bit of work to prepare existing entries for use by this application-to-be. You shouldn't notice much difference.
