In the morning, as planned, I went to the Children's Museum to provide support in case of apocalyptic computer emergency. The apocalypse did not come. However, Microsoft software doesn't need any excuses to misbehave, so my morning filled up quite nicely with the usual support issues.
I made it downtown in time for lunch with David @ BS&G. He is back on the Atkins diet for the new year. I'm considering it. My food preferences generally lean toward fat and protein already, so it's just a matter of officially jettisoning what little carbohydrate I currently eat. I could stand to weigh even a bit less, since I'm still twenty pounds above my desired and historically valid “playing weight”. Thinking about it.
Thanks to some prodding from Yared, the Internet meta-search now also displays the titles and descriptions of search results (not just the URLs). Plus, I figured out how to plug the Perl script into the PHP-based site design: submit the search form with GET instead of POST, then pass around the QUERY_STRING environment variable.
Today was a big day for me and my homey OpenBSD. My OpenSSH t-shirt arrived, and it is superfly. (Can't wait for the other two shirts!) Also, Louis Bertrand, the OpenBSD public relations guy, added my blurb about OhioOnline's use of OpenBSD to the official OpenBSD Web site!
