home.ooi.net has been reorganized on the CVS server to include not only the Web pages, but also the CGI programs and other code. Moving things around in CVS is messy, and since CVS runs on Unix, renaming counts as moving! To avoid mess, the scope and design of a project must be clearly defined before committing to CVS. I am not sure this will harmonize with OhioOnline's workflow. Better to learn these lessons on a small scale, where I am the only programmer on a project, than to jump in and get bit in the butt later.

Lunch at BS&G with David, Joe, Raj, and Yared. Conversation consisted exclusively of Unix topics. Usually, David and I schmooze while eating, then fill in a few Unix gaps afterward. It made for a nice change of pace. Normally, I have to find a cadre of CWRU geeks to have a chitchat of this variety.

Dinner at BW-3 with Grauer, Pat, Roth, Chang, Ben, and Frank. As the only one in the group not yet 21 years old, I had to persuade the door dude to let me in by promising I would sit only in the restaurant area and not order alcohol. One more month and I will no longer have to justify myself to The Man.

I spoke with Amit and Mike about working for the Daily Jolt. They want me there, and I want to be there, but it's not going to happen just yet. Until they find the right investors, they don't have money with which to pay me. As much as I would love to work for them for free, I am hampered by debts to my fraternity and my parents. This means, sadly, that working on the Jolt will have to continue to be a lower priority than my paying job.
