I did very little work today, which bothers me, but this is because I completed several pressing tasks related to all the moving I have done and will be doing. I determined the total U-Haul moving cost by consulting the proprietor of the establishment where I dropped off the truck and tabulating several receipts; clarified my understanding of the house situation by speaking briefly with the woman from whom we shall be subletting, then mailed my contract agreement; ordered DSL service for the house; and opened a checking account at a local bank.
At lunchtime, I semi-intentionally ended up strolling around Downtown Crossing, where an insane number of people filled the streets and sidewalks and restaurants. I almost thought myself lost, then found myself back on familiar Summer Street heading toward the Burger King I wanted. I got an onion ring with my fries. I think this happens every time I order fries at Burger King. I get a fry or two in my onion rings, too, whenever I order those instead. I think this probably also happens to plenty of other people. I think Burger King will probably get sued very soon by someone allergic to potatoes or onions.
I wrote a program to run on regular short intervals and alert us if the server runs too low on free disk space. Perl is fun!
