I wanted to get to work super early to solve our sendmail relaying problem. But I was very tired and left only normal early. And I realized, as I arrived, that I had no key. Good thing I didn't get there much earlier! Chris arrived a few minutes later and opened the door.

I did a lot of coding and got a lot of tasks done. Mike took the initiative to discuss his concerns about my progress on various assignments. I was concerned, too, and was glad that he wanted to talk about it. I find myself saddled with lots of minor system administration jobs, whereas I expected and am expected to be programming. We cleared things up some. Even when we disagree, I appreciate Mike's candor and forthrightness.

In response to my concerns, I will be getting an office computer, and will be able to take my personal machines home this weekend. I am very happy about this.

Got a very good lunch from Bethany's, across the street from the rear of the building: BLT sub sandwich, clam chowder, Cape Cod russet potato chips, and Orangina. Zounds! Still, I need to bring my own lunch.

I was working a bit late, in part because it just kept raining. Peter came to the office with McDonald's from South Station. Word up. We went home on the B line because of the rain. The commute still added up to one hour. A solid improvement, but not as short as I would like.
