Rode in with Pete on the T.

Some of the network ports we set up over the weekend were no longer working. Some were still fine. Weird mojo. Closer inspection revealed that some of the cables we'd set up had been removed. This is not cool.

BSD for me! I boosted the monitor from Softnet's KVM switch and sat on the floor with Brendan in the office that has a door but can never be closed. The monitor is very bad. I'll have a nice new 17-incher tomorrow. Niftyneato!

Kendra got interned to pick up a power strip for me, so I can plug in from a desk instead of the floor. Yay!

Minor major problem: SSH doesn't work for me. Mike had encountered this earlier. We are not sure what causes it, but it is a showstopper.

We arrived at Danehy Park to find that the summer league game was canceled due to rain — not current, but earlier in the day, and the fields were still wet. Oy. Peter and I walked through the mall. I got a notebook from Staples and a 1/8” stereo input y-adapter cable from Radio Shack (G3 and digital piano both play through my speakers — rah!). We hit a place called Cheddar's for dinner. I had a fine steak sandwich made by the very friendly people behind the counter. Good place. We'll steer our team there after our next game. We also got orange-mango Coolattas from the local Dunkin Donuts. These places are everywhere. There's one in my office building!

Long having suspected the worst about Boston public transportation, our suspicions were validated when Pete spotted a sign near the rear conductor booth on our Green Line D train that clearly stated “Kinki”. Be careful how you ride the T!

Played Crazy Taxi on Luis's Dreamcast. I'm going to have to get used to the controls, but it's true to the arcade. Now I can play any time!
