School-related news
I called all the standardized test places to find out if my scores from ca. 1996 still exist and can be sent to colleges. They do and can, though it costs a little more, presumably because my data has to be retrieved from an older database which suffers from arthritis.
Financial costs aside, this is very good news, because it means I only need to retake a test if a lustworthy school insists on having a more recent score. I hope none will, because it's tremendously unlikely that I would do anywhere near as well on SAT, SAT II, or ACT (let alone 10 or 11 AP exams) if I took them again now.
Job-related news
I think I'm going to walk away from my contract. It's no fun, doesn't pay well enough to be no fun, and the boss guy (a 33-year-old working in the basement of his parents' house) has expressed intent to violate portions of the contract, such as the one indicating how often I get paid. I could really use the next few weeks to kick the ass of my college application process. So I think I'm done working for this guy, most likely tomorrow. The lesson here is, next time, have enough savings that I can afford to wait for the right job offer.
