My manager, with whom I get along swimmingly because we have similar technical backgrounds, opinions, and attitudes, is not going to be my manager soon. He's going to be driving IT projects instead, which will certainly involve us but not as direct reports. Instead, the guy who had been the Tech Support manager before my time is returning to our group.

I'll be a staff member starting Wednesday, pending the outcome of my physical exam Tuesday (I guess they're concerned about my lifting mildly heavy things and crawling around under desks). It's about time!

Ultimate is kicking my ass. My ankles need some help. Soon I'll have medical coverage helping me to get it.
