Peter: Are you finding it easy to follow? Could you eat that way indefinitely? Atkins works well for me because foods high in protein and fat taste better to me, and because after eating they don't leave a bad taste in my mouth or an uneasy feeling in my stomach (carbs generally do). I'm a bit skeptical that the South Beach Diet is measurably better for the heart; after all, before he was a bestselling author of diet books, Dr. Atkins was also a cardiologist. Also, I had my cholesterol tested recently, and after over a year on Atkins, my blood profile is excellent. But the South Beach Diet is obviously not horrible for you. Keep doing it!
