All itinerary notes below can be assumed to constitute a scaffolding within which I'll be able to reconstruct and recount more specific, amusing anecdotes (and my thoughts thereupon) at such time as I have several hours to spend at a computer. Possibly Phoenix in a couple days, more likely San Francisco this weekend.

  • 7:30 AM: Shower and breakfast.
  • 9:00 AM: Head west on I-44. We'll get to Midland, TX by day's end. Not necessarily by that route.

  • 7:30 AM: Showered and breakfasted (deliciously homemade by Addie) and applied finishing touches to the computer.
  • 9:30 AM: Scaled Gateway Arch. It's part of a larger park. Another part is the Museum of Westward Expansion, which included an exhibit on the Lewis and Clark Expedition with some breathtaking photos. I may get to see some of the western end of that trip on this trip (the part with Danny, from San Francisco on).
  • 12:00 PM: Headed west on I-44.
  • 9:00-10:00 PM (Eastern): Remotely participated in Dial-A-Dork from I-44 in Oklahoma, starting just east of Tulsa and ending a bit before Oklahoma City. Many thanks to Abby for the use of her cell phone.
  • 9:30 PM (Central): Arrived at our hosts' home in Oklahoma City. Dined on deliciously homemade dinner, with good company from Ben (the third consecutive place of lodging, for Adam and me, with a Ben in it).
  • 11:00 PM: Interweb. Cable modem! Very nice change of pace.
