Sitting quietly in the living room of our new house, where there’s enough space that my childhood piano has joined us.
Taking Taavi to day care means walking around the corner. When I got home from yesterday’s swim lesson (a few blocks away), my sister and her big little ones were in the backyard.
On our way to dinner, we walked past some kids playing ball in the street. This morning, on his way to a parent-teacher meeting a block away, my brother-in-law stopped in for coffee.
Today is Taavi’s second birthday. Of the gifts he’s getting this week, living here is the biggest and best.
It’s time to get to work. Since I don’t feel a need for a third-wave breve cappuccino — with at least Stumptown, Counter Culture, and Brooklyn Roasting Company options within ten minutes on foot — I’ll just head to my office upstairs.
