A friend, knowing my love of Medtner’s music, drew my attention to a new YouTube video about him. I was pleasantly surprised to see it, and even more pleasantly surprised to hear myself playing in the background! Here’s ”Classical Nerd” Thomas Little’s 5-minute introduction to Medtner:
He used the free recording of Sonata-Reminiscenza I made for Piano Society. (I also wrote the text for Piano Society’s Medtner page.) An alternative recording I can offer — of which I’m quite proud — is my performance at the 2007 International Rachmaninoff Conference.
If you’re curious, here’s more about my relationship to this remarkable piece.
