My new home fileserver is here. It's a Mini-ITX motherboard, 1GHz VIA CPU, two 120GB Western Digital IDE drives, and an Intel 10/100/1000 Ethernet card (the onboard Ethernet is only 10/100) in a stylish aluminum case. It arrived configured with Linux and a simple web admin interface (written in PHP). Proving that my geek views have become more moderate in my old age, I played with it for a few days before nuking it and installing NetBSD. Small, quiet, software RAID1. Runs great.
