I need to get a Deutsch grammar textbook written in English. Not a reference volume of terms to memorize, but something that explains what the grammatical rules are. I have 5 textbooks already and none explain anything. You're just supposed to soak up by osmosis things like word order. Which is not working for me.

Few online textbook listings seem to include example pages. So I need somewhere to browse and compare several DE-EN grammar textbooks in person. Is there a library or bookshop in Berlin that would be ideal for this? The VÖBB branches in my area only had a few fiction books in English, no language learning texts at all. Shakespeare & Sons also didn't pan out. What are better in person sources? #germanclass

The NetBSD VM experiment continues. Currently building WebKitGtk60 using pkgsrc-wip to see if I can continue developing Sunstone if and when I make the switch for real.

Overall I have to say NetBSD has come a long way from what I remember. In years past it really felt like it had lagged behind eg. FreeBSD. I'm not getting that impression now. The installer is really straightforward, you get X11 as part of the install, and Pkgin works just like you would expect a modern package manager to work on Linux. It's a little slower than Pacman from what I can tell, but it's in a VM so hard to say for sure.

It was also nice to see that zfs runs on NetBSD now.
