A few weeks ago, while wandering through Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge with Haskell, I proposed to Bekki. She went for it:
Which is really unfortunate, because under most any other circumstances my joining Pillar as a software development coach would be the most exciting thing going. I start Monday.
Never mind all that. What’s really exciting is, I’m writing this comment in

ed. First git comment since the big site move! But it’s also exciting, I suppose, to join Pillar as a software development coach. And challenging, because Pillar doesn’t currently have any clients in the vicinity of Bloomington. I’ll be spending a lot of time each week in southeast Michigan, which (in the absence of direct flights, buses, and trains) most likely means spending lots of time in a car on Mondays and Thursdays. I’ll have a better idea how best to cope with the distance after I’ve started on-site next month.
Wrong! Delta has plenty of IND-DTW nonstops. I don’t know how I got myself so thoroughly convinced that no such option existed. Some are even scheduled very favorably. The fare isn’t consistently in a range I’d choose to pay, but having me fly is exceedingly likely to be worth everyone’s while, and at any rate my personal moneybags aren’t the ones implicated.
